Biography & Artist Statement

My lifelong passion for drawing, painting, and sculpting began at the Essex Art Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts. From the start, I found joy in creating intricate pieces, my work defined by precise details, symmetry, and clean lines. I also taught myself oil painting and portraiture, where my style has grown looser and more abstract over time. Now, as a medical student, sketching anatomy has deepened my understanding of the human body and allowed me to communicate complex concepts through medical illustrations in research studies.

As I pursue a career in plastic and reconstructive surgery, I’ve come to see how naturally my creative pursuits align with my medical ambitions. Both demand manual dexterity, visual acuity, and problem-solving skills, but they also require something deeper: patience, intention, and a commitment to continual refinement. Whether wielding a brush or a scalpel, mastery relies on a profound understanding of fundamental principles, meticulous planning, and adaptability in the face of unique challenges.

Art has taught me to see differently, work deliberately, and use my hands with care.
